eBay Store & Listing Design | Custom Templates Applied Across Live Listings | Frooition
eBay Seller Tools · Listing Designs

A design on one listing is a nice listing. On all of them, it’s a shop.

Custom design from an in-house team that has done nothing else since 2006, or a ready-made responsive design you brand yourself — applied across your live listings in one pass, without relisting any of them.

The why

Most eBay catalogues are three shops wearing one name

Not because anyone decided that. Because listings are created over years, by different people, in different moods, and nothing ever goes back and tidies the old ones.

01

A buyer sees one listing, not your catalogue

They form a view of whether you are a business in about two seconds, from the one page they landed on — which is as likely to be a listing from 2019 as your newest one.

02

Design drift is invisible from the inside

You look at the listings you just created. The ones costing you credibility are the ones you have not opened in three years, and nothing surfaces them.

03

eBay banned active content, and old templates broke

JavaScript, Flash and forms stopped working inside listings. Templates built before that are not just dated — parts of them may simply not render any more.

04

Redesigning means touching every listing

Which is the reason it does not get done. A new design that only reaches new listings leaves the majority of your catalogue exactly as it was.

Open one of your own listings from three years ago, on your phone, and scroll to the bottom. Does it look like the same business as your newest one? Does the gallery still load? That is the design question — not what a new template looks like, but how it reaches the listings you already have.

What’s in it for you

Three things you get back

One shop, not three

The same header, the same tabs, the same information architecture on every listing a buyer can land on — including the old ones.

Listings that still render

Static HTML and CSS, which is what eBay permits. Nothing that quietly stopped working when active content was banned.

A redesign that actually lands

Applying a design runs across live listings without relisting, so the change reaches the catalogue rather than just the next thing you list.

The feature

Design → Apply → Keep it applied

Two of these three steps are the ones people forget to ask about, and they are where a redesign usually stalls.

Step one

Get the design

Either a bespoke store and listing design from the in-house team, or a ready-made responsive design you brand yourself.

Step two

Apply it across live listings

Bulk Revision’s design group applies or removes a listing design across the live listings you select — in one pass, with no relisting, so nothing resets.

Step three

Keep new listings on it

Auto Apply puts your design on new listings as you create them. It belongs to the Frooition Pro design service rather than the toolkit — see the note below.

The detail

What is actually in the design product

Set out plainly, because “eBay templates” covers everything from a header image to a full information architecture.

Bespoke design

  • Designed by the in-house team
  • Your branding, your structure
  • eBay-certified partner since 2006
  • Quoted after an assessment

Ready-made designs

  • A library of pre-built listing designs
  • Mobile responsive
  • Branded with your own colours and logo
  • See the note on counts below

Built to eBay’s rules

  • Static HTML and CSS
  • No active content — no JavaScript, Flash or forms
  • Renders on desktop and mobile

Applying it — live listings

  • Bulk Revision → design group
  • Apply or remove a listing design
  • No relisting, so history and watchers stay
  • Boost Basic, up to 500 listings

Applying it — new listings

  • Auto Apply
  • Applies your design as you create listings
  • Frooition Pro design service, not the toolkit
  • Needs a purchased custom design

Sits alongside

  • Cross Sell Gallery — free, unlimited, every account
  • Seller info tabs — About Us, Delivery, Returns
  • Media hosting for images and video
The distinction worth getting right before you buy: applying a design to listings that already exist and keeping new listings on that design automatically are two different things on two different price lines. The first is Bulk Revision’s design group, included in Boost Basic up to 500 listings. The second is Auto Apply, which sits in the Frooition Pro custom-design service and needs a purchased design. If someone tells you a redesign “just applies everywhere”, ask which of those two they mean.
Before you redesign, see what you actually have.
A free account shows you every live listing as it stands today — including the ones you have not opened in three years. That is usually the argument for a redesign.

The benefit

The old listings are the ones that matter

Every seller has a newest listing they are proud of. Buyers do not arrive at the newest listing. They arrive at whichever one matched their search, and the odds are it is old.

  • ConsistencyThe same shop front on a listing from 2019 as on one from this morning.
  • No resetApplying a design across live listings does not relist them, so watchers, listing age and sold history all stay put.
  • Information, not decorationDelivery, returns and about-us tabs answer the questions that otherwise arrive as messages.

Why static HTML matters

eBay does not allow active contentJavaScript, Flash and forms do not run inside listings. Designs built on them broke, and in places simply stopped displaying.
Static is not a limitation hereHeaders, galleries, tabbed information and responsive layout are all achievable in HTML and CSS alone.
It is also why old templates rotIf a design predates the change and nobody revisited it, parts of it may be silently missing for buyers right now.

A familiar shape

The listing you had forgotten about

You redesigned two years ago. It looked good. It still looks good on the listings you created after it.

Then a buyer messages asking whether you accept returns, and you open the listing they are looking at to check what it says. It is an old one. It has the previous design, the previous returns wording, and a gallery that no longer loads.

Nothing broke. It simply never got updated, because updating it meant updating four thousand others, and there was never a week for that.

A redesign that only reaches new listings is a redesign of a minority of your shop.

So how many of yours are still on the old one? Worth knowing before you commission anything.

The bit that’s usually missing

What it costs

Free to find, paid to apply — and the free part is the whole diagnosis, not a teaser. Whether a tool is included shouldn’t take three clicks and a form to find out.

Paid · one plan

Boost Basic

£30/month +VAT

£300/year +VAT · US $46/month, $460/year

One plan covering the paid tools, including 25 AutoFix Credits a month. Applying changes to live listings is the paid step — by subscription, by credits, or by a quoted managed service.

This tool specifically: Applying a design across live listings is included in Boost Basic, up to 500 listings per account — or a credit per listing outside the subscription. Above 500 needs a custom quote and a Frooition Pro design account. Viewing the design library is free.
Auto Apply is not in the toolkit. Putting your design on new listings automatically belongs to the Frooition Pro custom-design service line, and needs a purchased custom design. Bespoke design itself is quoted after an assessment.
AutoFix Credits are £1 per credit +VAT (US $1.33), 10% off from 100 and 15% off from 500, bought as a one-off rather than a subscription. One credit does one action on one listing — and a credit is only ever spent writing a change to a live listing, never on finding something. Boost Basic includes 25 a month, 300 on the annual plan.
Quoted after an assessment, not priced here: bespoke store and listing design, Auto Apply, a sixth eBay account and beyond, catalogue imports above 10,000 listings, template design beyond 500 listings and FrooSync, Listing Rescue and inventory work. Onboarding is a separate professional service — the first half hour free, then £50/hour for new clients.

Straight answers

What we’re not claiming

Every claim on this page should survive a sceptical seller checking it. These are the edges.

We don’t quote a template count hereThe site says 600+. That number has never been verified against the product, so this page describes the library without putting a figure on it. If the count is confirmed, it goes in.
We don’t claim a design increases salesOur own templates page carries a specific sales-uplift percentage. That figure has never been through the claims register, so this page does not repeat it — not even to argue with it, because a number you have read is a number you remember.
Auto Apply is a different product line and we say soIt sits in the Frooition Pro design service, not the toolkit, and needs a purchased custom design. Anyone reading “applies your design automatically” without that is being told half the story.
Applying a design is not a full redesign of a listingIt changes the frame around your content — header, tabs, gallery, layout. The description text, photographs and item specifics are still yours, and still what a buyer reads.

FAQ

eBay listing design questions

Can a new design be applied to listings that are already live?
Yes, and this is the part worth checking with any provider. Bulk Revision’s design group applies or removes a listing design across the live listings you select, in one pass, without relisting — so watchers, listing age and sold history stay attached. Boost Basic covers up to 500 listings per account.
What is the difference between that and Auto Apply?
Bulk Revision applies a design to listings that already exist, and is part of the toolkit. Auto Apply puts your design on new listings as you create them, and belongs to the Frooition Pro custom-design service — it needs a purchased custom design.
Bespoke design, or a ready-made one?
Bespoke is designed by the in-house team around your branding and structure, and is quoted after an assessment. Ready-made designs are pre-built and mobile responsive, and you brand them yourself. Both end up applied the same way.
How many ready-made designs are there?
The site says 600+. We haven’t verified that number against the product, so we are not going to repeat it as fact here. Ask and we will tell you what is actually in the library today.
Will a new design make me more sales?
We won’t promise that. A consistent, complete, mobile-legible listing removes reasons not to buy and answers questions before they become messages. How much that is worth depends on what you sell.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes — the designs are responsive, which matters because a large share of eBay browsing is on a phone and a desktop-only template reads badly there.
Why does eBay’s active-content rule keep coming up?
Because eBay stopped allowing JavaScript, Flash and forms inside listings. Designs built on those things broke. Frooition designs are static HTML and CSS, which is what eBay permits — and it is worth checking whether an older template of yours is still fully rendering.
