Temu has become a fast-growing marketplaces in the UK, and its Local Seller Program now lets UK businesses sell and fulfil orders locally rather than shipping from overseas. Here’s what the programme actually involves, what it costs, what you’ll need to qualify, and how sellers already on the platform are getting on.
What Is Temu’s Local Seller Program?
Temu is a global e-commerce platform connecting consumers with manufacturers, brands and business partners across more than 90 markets. Since introducing its Local Seller Program in 2024, Temu has extended local fulfilment to more than 30 markets, including the UK, allowing businesses to sell and dispatch orders from UK stock.
That shift matters for UK sellers. Local listings can show faster delivery estimates than cross-border ones, which tends to convert better, and eligible sellers can list across more than 700 categories — from apparel and electronics to furniture, food and household goods. The programme has attracted everyone from family-run brands and traditional manufacturers to wholesale distributors and multinational retailers.
How Much Does It Cost? Temu Seller Fees Explained
Registering on Temu is free — there’s no upfront fee to create a seller account or list products. Costs are applied at the point of sale rather than as fixed monthly charges, and the exact service fee depends on your product category, so it’s worth checking with the Temu local team.
Real UK Sellers Already Winning on Temu
Seller case studies from the UK Local Seller Program point to fast, meaningful growth for businesses that get their listings right:
- Exploded Sweets (Nottingham) — more than 1,000 orders within a fortnight of launching, with a roadmap to scale toward six-figure sales.
- McSlots (Cornwall, model cars and action figures) — daily orders up more than 40% within its first quarter on Temu, reaching £140,000 in sales within the first year.
- The Sleep People (Yorkshire, mattress manufacturer) — a 27% sales increase within three weeks of joining, enabling the business to expand its workforce and launch a training programme for armed forces veterans.
- Money Cruncher (Leeds, also trading as Spot On-Line) — daily sales grew from £1,000 to £20,000 a day within a year and a half, hiring 21 warehouse staff along the way and passing one million orders through Temu.
Temu Seller Requirements & Compliance
Temu has invested heavily in protecting both sellers and customers on the platform: it put $100 million into compliance and quality control in 2025 and plans to double that investment in 2026. In practice, that means seller identities are verified against business registries, and you’ll need supporting documentation — such as test reports and certificates — before certain products can be listed.
Temu also works with independent testing and certification bodies, including DEKRA, TÜV SÜD, Eurofins, SGS and Bureau Veritas, to help sellers meet local safety standards. Once your seller application is approved, you can start listing. Fast dispatch, accurate listings, low refund rates and consistent service are rewarded with better organic reach on the platform, and a dedicated account manager supports onboarding, compliance, inventory and growth strategy.
Setting Up Your Temu Account
