Mobile Commerce – £1.3bn Boost? With mobile commerce predicted to be worth £19 billion by 2021, eBay are calling for Ofcom (the regulatory authority for the telecommunications in the UK) to address the needs of mobile shoppers. Commissioned by eBay, Verdict (retail expert) has conducted detailed research and discovered UK Retailers are missing out on at least £1.3bn as a result of difficulties when shopping on their mobile phones. ChannelAdvisor held their annual EU Catalyst conference in London this week. At this event they always review the current state of e-commerce as well as looking at the areas of growth for the next year. This year the overriding themes were Local, Social, Mobile and Internationalisation. Ecommerce is changing and the boundaries between online and off line are converging. eBay Deadline Extended… Originally set in May; the deadline for Clothing, Shoes & Accessories has now been extended to 20th July! Excitingly, as an eBay seller, this will give you even more time to update all your seller listings. As of July 20th, item specifics for Brand, Style, Colour, Size Type and Size will be required for all new and revised listings in CSA. Cross Border selling could lower your eBay Fees and save you money!

Fees are one of the biggest changes occurring on eBay sites around the world following the recent Spring Seller Release update. For some sellers the fee changes are in their favour, but for many sellers it will represent an increase in fees. There are also now different ways that fees are calculated for sellers depending which site they list on. Sellers listings on eBay.com will pay fees on shipping costs whilst business sellers in the UK will pay flat rate fees on the whole of the final value of the sale excluding shipping costs.
