We might be in the midst of another extreme heatwave this summer, but that doesn’t mean it’s too early to start thinking about Christmas. If the dog days of summer mean anything to online retailers, this time of year should be about getting ready for the peak Q4 Holiday sales season. Getting ready for peak means having all of your marketing strategies lined up and ready to go. For the typical online marketplace seller, this might mean ensuring your listings are fully optimised in terms of eBay listing best practices. For more sophisticated multi-channel online retail businesses, a priority could be ensuring their MarTech stack is fully aligned to manage the opportunity in the most efficient manner possible. I Went Viral on TikTok – Here’s What I Learned
As a content marketer, I’ve always been a big fan of social media. I’ve long relied on social channels like Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn to engage in conversations with the various marketing communities I serve, and they have helped me drive traffic to my blog posts, video content, and podcasts. However, as a busy B2B marketer, I’m also conscious that engaging appropriately with every social media channel would be impossible. So I invest my time in the channels I believe my audience is predominantly based. This is why I’ve never given more than a cursory look at social channels like Snapchat or Pinterest to promote my objectives. But now and again, a social media channel comes along that completely shakes… Read more »

Is TikTok Livestream Shopping The New QVC For Gen Z Shoppers? Not Yet!
TikTok’s plans to turn the burgeoning social media platform into a global livestream shopping platform have been potentially derailed, according to a recent report in the Financial Times. The livestream shopping experience was launched in the UK last year after initial success in the Asian markets. However, plans to expand the scheme further into Europe and the United States have been put on hold after UK sales failed to meet expectations. What is Livestream Shopping? Livestream shopping is the social media equivalent of TV shopping channels like QVC, where live presenters demonstrate products, hype special offers, and ultimately sell products hand over fist. So the question is, can TikTok turn the “TV shopping” model on its head and appeal to… Read more »
What Does The New Normal Look Like For Online Retailers?
In the post-pandemic world, eCommerce is still considered a reasonably safe bet. Many of our clients saw their businesses grow at unprecedented levels during the nearly two-year cycle of lockdowns and restricted high street shopping. Some believed this trend was the “new normal” and were shocked to see their online sales falling off a cliff when restrictions were relaxed. Ecommerce is Still a Growth Industry The good news is that eCommerce is still a growth… Read more »
