In what will be seen as another significant blow to brick-and-mortar retail, much of this spending occurred when consumers were out shopping. As a result, mobile now accounts for more than 50% of all eCommerce sales. What are people buying on their smartphones? Every product category is enjoying growth in mobile eCommerce. Fashion is seeing huge gains with £30bn spent on new threads. Health and beauty is also seeing… Read more »

BigCommerce: Listing Product Variants on Google Shopping

Google Shopping (previously known as Google Product Search, Google Products, and Froogle) offers online retailers a compelling opportunity to position their products on the most valuable piece of eCommerce real estate. However, submitting an accurate product feed can be problematic for retailers on the BigCommerce platform selling products with multiple variants (different sizes, colours, specifications, etc.) with different stock levels. Out of the box, the Google Shopping feed will only see the parent product and potentially disapprove the variant SKUs due to not being able to identify inventory levels across the various variants. Previously, BigCommerce retailers have had two options to overcome this hurdle. They could either create separate product pages for each variant (a clunky workaround at best) or… Read more »

Why B2B Sellers Need to Onboard More eCommerce Clients

B2B selling is a funny old business. Historically, wholesale and distribution companies have been built on the back of personal relationships and may have been reticent to embrace the world of eCommerce fully. But the world is changing, and more B2B buyers expect a B2C sales experience in their business transactions. This includes clear insight into pricing, stock availability, and shipping details. For example, if a buyer clearly understands when items are due in stock, they can better make plans for merchandising that stock and quickly moving it out of the door. However, adopting B2C sales practices in your B2B operation doesn’t just benefit the client. There are genuine benefits to the B2B seller as well. 7 Reasons Why B2B… Read more »

The Highway to Automotive eCommerce Success

The way people buy cars and automotive spares and accessories is changing, with online retailers and marketplaces taking an ever-increasingly large market share. Of course, the driving public was already moving towards this online model, but automotive sales saw incredible acceleration during the pandemic like so many other verticals. A recent report published by Frooition’s eCommerce partners, BigCommerce, suggested that prior to the lock-down in 2020, upwards of 32% of car buyers in the US were open to buying a car online. In 2021 that figure had grown to a staggering 61%. While there will be some adjustment to those figures as the world emerges from the pandemic, the genie isn’t about to climb back into the bottle. Online automotive… Read more »

Custom eCommerce Design and Functionality for BigCommerce Stores

The eCommerce team at Frooition pride themselves on being able to fit a square peg into a round hole when it comes to BigCommerce design projects. That’s why so many clients with custom build requests find themselves calling on the Frooition team after less capable agencies let them down. While every online retailer comes to Frooition with a “unique” problem, in reality, there is very little that our in-house team of developers and designers haven’t seen before. And when something a little out of the ordinary does come in, our creative and technical skills can usually find a solution. In this respect, we like to think of our design and build process as entrepreneurial. Essentially, we invest time, effort, and… Read more »

Celebrating a BIG Week of eCommerce Design at Frooition

We’ve had a BIG week at Frooition. Not only were we recognised by BigCommerce as a top-performing agency partner for our “extraordinary and innovative” work. We also launched three new eCommerce sites for our clients within just a matter of days of each other. The first nomination came in the EMEA Best B2B Solution Award. Finalists in this category were recognised for having a proven background in B2B problem solving, driving efficiencies and utilising B2B-centric product features like Price lists, customer groups and the organisation of an abundant amount of SKUs. If you visited us at the recent Spring Fair event in Birmingham, you’d know the world of B2B eCommerce is a particularly exciting proposition for the Frooition team. Because… Read more »

Wholesale for Retail: The B2B eCommerce Functionality You Need

The eCommerce design and build team at Frooition likes nothing better than fitting a square peg into a round hole. That’s why so many clients come to us after being let down by other agencies who just want to knock out “standard” websites. To be honest, we enjoy the challenge of bespoke builds and believe that eCommerce functionality should be pushed to its limits. It’s perhaps because of our “can-do” attitude that so many B2B wholesale clients have recently come knocking on our door. Wholesale is a very different game to retail, and the everyday tools that eCommerce design and build agencies feel comfortable with, just don’t cut the mustard. Frictionless B2B eCommerce When it comes to managing and exceeding… Read more »

As a business headquartered in the Midlands and serving clients worldwide, Frooition couldn’t be more excited about welcoming so many of “our people” to the city we are very proud to call home. To celebrate the return of the Spring Fair to Birmingham, after a fallow year in 2021, Frooition is delighted to announce that our eCommerce design and optimisation experts will be in attendance at the event and look forward to welcoming all attendees and fellow exhibitors to our exhibition space. eCommerce best practices and… Read more »

Future Gazing with BigCommerce’s Robyn Potter

Future Gazing BigCommerce

As the primary point of contact between Frooition and our partners at BigCommerce, we consider Robyn Potter, an essential team member. She’s the first person we go to discuss strategy, integrations and, as we so often do at Frooition, the challenges of fitting a square peg into a round hole in terms of complex and bespoke eCommerce builds. It’s, therefore, fitting that Potter was the first person we spoke with for the first in a series of interviews looking to the future of eCommerce in 2022. The future of eCommerce “We’ve had an incredible couple of years in eCommerce,” says Potter. “The pandemic has seen traditional bricks and mortar businesses quickly transition to online selling out of sheer necessity, and… Read more »
