eBay are rewarding Top Rated Sellers with a new badge of confidence ‘Top Rated Plus’ for their outstanding commitment and response to the last TRS update which resulted in a more competitive eBay and better meet today’s buyer expectations.

Top Rated Plus – September 2012

Key Highlights:

• From September, eBay will highlight Top Rated Seller listings with 1-day handling and 14-day or more returns with a new Top Rated Plus seal. This seal will draw more engagement and confidence to your listings increasing sales and enhancing the overall eBay experience.
  
• The current badge will be removed for all categories except Motor Vehicles.
• Profile feedback page for all Top Rated Sellers will include the following statement:
  “Top Rated: Seller with highest buyer ratings”

Excitingly, sellers who move to meet this listing criteria will benefit from increased buyer confidence and sales as well as becoming more competitive and enhance the overall buying experience on eBay.

What do I need to do as a seller?

• Ensure you continue to meet Top Rated Seller Requirements to benefit from increased exposure, buyer confidence and sales.
• Ensure at least 90% of all your US transactions have uploaded tracking information or delivery confirmation within stated handling time.
  

Top Tips

• Use your Seller Dashboard to track your current progress and performance for Top Rated Seller status, if you spot something flagging address the issue quickly to retain your desired status.
• Don’t forget you can check how many of your items offer 1-day handling and a minimum 14 day return policy with a money-back option within Selling Manager Pro (My eBay > Selling, Selling Manager and Selling Manager Pro).
• Don’t over commit or over promise. If you feel you can’t meet stated handling times or delivery times don’t state them, it’s better to meet client’s realistic expectations than recover from negative feedback and poorly performing DSR’s.
• Remember, Top Rated Seller listings that meet 1-day handling and a 14-day or longer return policy with a money-back option earn a 20% final value fee discount!
