Overview: AI Is Now Flagging Which Listings Need Attention
The Action Items widget on the Overview tab now includes an “Underperforming Listings” flag, highlighting listings eBay’s AI has identified as candidates for a title refresh. It’s a useful early-warning signal — a listing quietly losing visibility often doesn’t show up anywhere else until sales have already dropped.
Orders: An AI Dispute Assistant Suggests Resolutions
In the Orders tab, the AI Dispute Assistant now suggests resolutions for returns and cancellations based on your account’s own history. It’s a starting point rather than a final answer — worth treating suggested resolutions as a draft to review, not an autopilot.
Listings: Photo-to-Listing AI and Automated Item Specifics
The most visible change is in the Listings tab’s “Bulk via AI” creation flow.

What These AI Features Don’t Do
None of them replace a strategy — they speed up execution of one you’ve already got. An AI-refreshed title on a listing with the wrong category or a weak image still won’t perform. An AI-suggested dispute resolution still needs a human decision behind it. And AI-generated item specifics are a starting point worth a quick review, not a guarantee of accuracy for every category.
Why Some Sellers Are Skeptical of eBay’s Own AI
Not every seller is convinced by eBay’s AI features. In eBay’s own Community forum, sellers have reported item specifics applied by simple keyword-matching rather than genuine understanding of the item — one long-running thread describes the specific “Character: He-Man” being auto-applied to unrelated toy listings, just because the title mentioned a different figure entirely, and similar mismatches on guitars and model trains in another thread.
AI-generated descriptions have drawn similar criticism — sellers argue that generic AI text can’t capture the specific condition or flaws of a used item the way the seller listing it actually can. There are also reports in the forum of eBay’s AI incorrectly flagging legitimate items as counterfeit, costing sellers time and account standing to resolve something that was never actually a problem.
